Many clients have questions about therapy. Below are answers to some common questions asked. However, feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have. 

  • How long are therapy sessions?
    The therapy hour is 50 minutes long. If sessions run longer than 50 minutes, clients will be charged accordingly. However, clients will be given a 10 minute warning before the session concludes.
  • How long does therapy last?
    There is no definite answer to this question. It really depends on the issue at hand and the severity of the issue. Another key factor is the willingness of clients to engage in the therapy process, particularly following the treatment plan and completing homework assignments. Some clients find relief in just a few short sessions, while others can take months.
  • Are sessions confidential?
    Information disclosed by clients is confidential, however, there are some limited legal exceptions. Therapists are required to report instances where the client presents a serious danger or threat of physicial harm to themsevles or others, as well as, instances of suspected child, dependent adult, or elder abuse.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment, clients are expected to notify the therapist at least 24 hours in advance of the appointment. If clients do not provide the therapist with at least 24 hours notice, they will be responsible for payment for the missed session.
